Build Your Base

Every day that we wake up, we get to start fresh.

No matter what happened the day before we have the opportunity, once again, to choose the attitude we will bring to the day.

Currently, we are living through some crazy times. At the time of writing this blog COVID-19 has infected over 3 million people and has claimed the lives of over 216,000 according to world odometer.info. This virus is changing life as we know it, maybe for the better, maybe not? We can’t be sure either way, yet. One thing that is certain though, is the fact that what is happening to our world is mostly out of our control.

However, there are still things we do have control over.. and those are the things we should focus on.

Each day we get a chance to be better than the person we were yesterday. A mighty feat sometimes, we will admit. Never-the-less a goal that should be continually pursued.

The goal of being better than we were yesterday can be accomplished a lot of different ways and we want to share one scientifically proven way to do it.

Every morning we wake up we’re given a fresh start and the ability to choose how we start our days. For a lot of us, this can look like hitting snooze until the last minute, checking our phones the instant we wake up, getting dressed in a hurry (well not right now) and chugging down a cup of coffee and a pop tart as we rush out the door to make it to work on time. THATS ROUGH

But what if we could start our days differently?

What if we could wake up just a little bit earlier than normal and follow a routine we laid out for ourselves the night before?

We're talking about a morning routine. And before you high tail it out of here, hear us out. Again, this stuff is based on science.

A morning routine is a way to accomplish a few easy tasks and give you a couple wins before you even start your day. (DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF A COUPLE 'WINS'). This could be as simple as drinking a glass of water, writing down one thing you're thankful for, or making the bed. No matter how small, a win is a win. And every win that we can get before having to face the crazy outside world is one more way to prime ourselves for making the next best decision. It’s simple psychology.

Here are a few different ways we like to start our days at Henotic Hemp

  • Stretching and applying one of our CBD balms
  • Exercising
  • Journaling while enjoying a cup of coffee
  • Meditating
  • Making a healthy breakfast shake with one of our CBD tinctures
  • Expressing gratitude by writing down a few things we’re thankful for
  • Taking our vitamins and a CBD energy capsule
  • Spending 5 minutes focused on positive affirmations
  • Listening to a podcast
  • Taking a shower and preforming a grooming ritual

These are just the tip of the ice burg when it comes to healthy routine practices. One key thing to mention is how important it is to set up your morning routine the night before. Having a clearly laid out checklist can be the difference between getting out of bed and getting it done, or just hitting the snooze button to go back to sleep.

Now it can’t be emphasized enough that this shouldn't be a rigid practice. The moment you push yourself too hard trying to be 'perfect' is the moment your inner child will have you scrolling on Instagram, headed strait for the donuts instead of a healthy breakfast shake.

We have to listen to and respect our inner voice but this shouldn't mean avoiding every slight discomfort. We still need to try and push ourselves to be better, even if it hurts a little. Sometimes it will.

Keep in mind, good habits and routines aren't formed overnight. They take a lot of repetition at first, which will include both success and failure. The key is to keep coming back to what you know is healthy for you and do what you can, when you can.

Setting ourselves up for success without even having to think about it, is what a routine can do. Its an easy, sure-proof way to give us the greatest chance at having a great day and being better than we were yesterday.

Build Your Base. Build your morning. Start the day with a healthy routine.

Wishing you all Balance, Health, and Unity.
