Lighten up your self-sabotage

Does this pattern look familiar?

Lock in→Feel great→Overindulge→Crash→Repeat

If you’re into things like fitness, meditation, and cold plunging, but also overindulge in your vices every weekend, you’re not living a life of balance – you're sabotaging your progress and losing trust in yourself while calling it “fun”

––––––

You lock in for a period of time – Eating clean, hitting the gym, working on your big idea – and you start to feel great. Then you decide to let off the gas a little and “reward” yourself for your hard work, and before you know it, you’ve overindulged again, and you're on the downswing back into guilt, shame, resentment, and depression – losing a little bit more of your self-respect each time.

Chasing high highs then crashing down into low lows, you stay down there until it hurts enough for you to find the motivation you need to make another attempt at getting your shit together “for real this time.” Then you repeat the pattern…

You have enough self-awareness to know you're not like everyone else, and you feel your soul is meant for a higher calling, but you know you're not living up to your potential, so you keep falling into the trap of escaping reality to numb the pain.

It’s a vicious cycle – you hold yourself to a high standard, and you’re disciplined enough to look like you have it together on the outside, but inside, you know your vices are what’s really running the show, and you keep letting them sabotage your momentum.

It’s frustrating beyond belief, and each time it happens, you quietly lose trust and a little respect for yourself. You know what you want, and you know what you need to do; you just can’t seem to do it – or at least not sustainably.

I call this the Pendulum Pattern. My name is Joshua, and I’m a recovered heroin addict turned Addiction Alchemist.

Whether the thing holding me back was substances, scrolling, or a bad belief system, I’ve gotten lost in the caves and found my way out. More than once.  I’m also an absolute connoisseur of the so-called Pendulum Pattern.

If you're struggling and want 1-on-1 support to find your way out of the caves you keep falling into, my 8-week-long Steady the Pendulum course may be meant for you.

––––––

At the end of 8 weeks, you’ll see your self-sabotaging pendulum patterns clearly, learn how to work with and not against yourself, and discover and establish your core values and a personal mission statement, so you have something to aim for and stay on track.

We will work together from the ground up – first identifying the unique pattern that’s got you stuck, taking 3 steps forward and 2 steps back. Here we’ll make a step-by-step plan and give you the right tools to work through your unique set of resistance when it comes up. We’ll dive into discovering and establishing your core values and a personal mission statement, so you have something to aim for and stay on track. Finally, we'll take a detailed look at your physical, mental, and spiritual habits and build a custom plan tailored to your needs and schedule, so you can build a strong foundation to work from daily.

Stop the sabotage. Stop annihilating your momentum. It doesn't have to be heavy. Together we can make it light.

With deeper awareness of your unique set of escape mechanisms, tools to keep you on track, and a clear understanding of what it is you value most and what you want to pursue, you’ll be further ahead than 99% of the population and on your way to living the life your soul is craving.
